Yes finally, a thread about my uk adventure:P

I enjoyed it so much, and it was ace seeing ali again, seeing mcfly again, hanging out with Renate and just have fun.

We spent most of the time in the midlands, Birmingham and around there, did some shopping, well mainly renate, but it was cool:D oh and we went out to wolverhampton, it's just about 20 minutes from where alison lives, so we got to see the uni and stuff, seemed like a nice city, a lot smaller than auckland, so i'm guessing it wont take me that long to get used to city.
And i met the subject leader for english, and he was really nice, and i already have five classics to read:O haven't started:P oh well, i have all of christmas don't i?
And after spending like 5 days up in the midlands we went down to london, we went to madame tussauds, oxford street, leicester sq, parlament and big ben, trafalgar sq, buckingham palace all those touristy things, and of course wembley, were we saw mcfly a 2nd time:D and hung out at my friends hotel room, oh and we took at taxi to the airport at 5:30 in the morning, completely knackered when we came to stansted and it was £55 for the trip:O but we didn't have a choice.
But in total, it was such a great trip, we didn't wanna go back home we didn't wanna start talking norwegian again, but hey it's only a month left till i move over so it's all good haha..
anyways, i'll post some pics for u:D
oh and p.s. sorry i haven't sent ur christmas pressie yet, it took me some time to find what i wanted to send u, will send it in january, so it might get there faster:D

WoW you are so lucky to be in England, i bet you are having a blast staying up all night stalking mcfly. lol. You will have to get a good shot of your new haircut i want to see it. Thanks for the txt this morning about unicentral, i haven't been on the internet for ages. You did really well, congrats it should look good on your transcript for next year. I did good as well, i guess it pays to go to class aye lol.
Anyways i am off to the immigration department to get citizenship for my husband, have an awesome time in the UK and stay safe. Missing you heaps and heaps. Lots of love Rachel XOXO

Well, it was good to hear that you arrived safe and sound. I bet you will sleep for the next few days you must be so hammered. And that is without adding in the time difference. Is it cold there? well it has only been a few days and i miss you already, you know 6.30 wake up txts. Okay maybe i don't miss that, but i miss everything else. Well enjoy all your partying and you see friends and family. How did the surprise arrival go?

Night Canyoning!

Hey Rachel,

Well i was working on my essay yd, really hard, haha.. and when i had 200 words, it was time to go.. me,david and ingo were gonna go night canyoning in piha! So i decided to worry about the essay later.. (still worrying but now i only need about 400 more words, and not 1200:P)

anyway, we went out there, took us about an hour, and we got wetsuits and stuff that we put on and headed up through the forrest and stuff, we had a short safety briefing, practised how to abseil, with stopping and moving and all that. I've never Abseiled before so that was an experience, down through the waterfall, at one point it was almost impossible to breath because of all the water, but i loved it.

And then we made our way further down the stream, meet an eel and saw glow worms, so we stopped at a bank there and had some juice and some chocolate, wow it was amazing. We kept moving down, and went through some narrow places, and we went into this cave part and saw Veta (?) up close, they were not as much like spiders as i thought they would, quite amusing really.. oh and we jumped, haha. it was dead scary but incredibly fun once u'd left the rock haha. i regret not doing the big jump the first time now (i went for the lower one)

I don't have any pictures of me jumping, but David and Ingo should have, so once they send me their pics i'll upload them to here..(meaning there will be a few more pictures eventually:D well i only need ingo's pictures.)
Anyway, suddenly we were down, and it was over, it felt like we'd only just started, our hands were numb and we were all still buzzing with excitement as we went back to the car, after changing into dry clothes we headed off for a quick stroll on piha beach, had a beer and celebrated an awesome evening.

It was awful coming home to the essay waiting for me. And well i know my essay wont be amazing, because i have no clue what i am writing about, but i think it'll give me a pass at least:D *fingers crossed* but i don't regret choosing the canyoning over the essay. NEVER! i wanna go again:D
