OMG!

I haven't updated in yonks now.
sorry about that hun, it's just been so much work stuff etc.
i've been meaning to ring you as well..
get skype and we can talk on that? i think that's a great plan.. and cheap plan.
i am finally back in england now,
it's pissing down nowadays tho, so yeh, not much to brag about but it's good to be back..
i had the weirdest dream the other night.. well about a week ago.
i had booked tickets for new zealand and on the plane there i panicked because i realised it was only 6 days till i was going to uk and i didn't have a return ticket and it would cost me shitloads to get back..
i freaked out so much i woke up haha...
kinda wished it was true tho.. i am hoping i can afford to come down, but i need a new laptop first..
looking to my a mac, but they're shit expencive really. but so is the tickets for new zealand in dec/jan,
i wish i could come down for your graduation in march instead, but it's like 2 weeks before my easter hols so it would kinda be impossible for me to do so :(
i am allowed to hope tho and i will keep hoping till all hope is lost hehe...

anyway i'm safely back, and just awaiting to start uni,
im a bit excited about this semester i'm doing a shakespeare paper and also one called popular texts, which is basically based around recent films and stuff. last year they did films like fight club and v for vendetta.
there's also two more but i forgot which ones hehe..

i also bought myself a new phone..

oh and i brought a friend with me to england, she's gonna study photography here..
which is ace. me and renate also got a goodbye party before we left;) which was nice.

Rachel my dear, i miss you so much nowadays, especially now that uni is starting up, i need some Rachelness to help me get by.
sounds like you're doing great tho, i am so proud of you hun, i mean you've almost finished your degree, and then you can move on to do what you want to do:D
i will be as proud as anyone the day you finish and especially the day you get your bachelor.
say hi to everyone i know yeh?
i miss you,
and i love you sooo much.
hugs and kisses from the rainy land that is called England.

love,
Ida

SOOOO CUTE!!!

You look so cute in your uniform, and i love how you were standing on the chair to take it. Sorry i haven't been on for awhile, the hoilidays were a nightmare. Slowly one by one everyone in the family got this horrible flu that was like a ten day flu, and everyone wanted 'mummy'.
I am so glad you passed all your classes, is it alot harder over there? go on you can be honest. So when do you start back up? I bet you are enjoying all that lovely summer weather, we are having a lot of rain, and a big storm this weekend. School just started back up and guess what Esther (Pacific Lit) is is having a baby in the next few weeks, and darryl is on sabbatical leave so i have Paul for all my classes except one. Co-op is interesting for my 150 hours i am the teacher for a reading extension program at my daughters school, there are some real brats.
Well i have to go but remember i miss you heaps and heaps.

Happy Norway Day!

once again it's been 17th of May, Norway's national day. and i thought i'd show you a few pics from the celebration..
me and Trine decorated the pub before we went down to a friends house and had norwegian waffles, muffins and beer, we were all nicely dressed for the occasion and we even had our own parade with brazband music from my ipod on the way to the pub, a small but lovely parade.
it was raining, but with sausages on the grill and a pint of fosters everything was good:D
We sang the national anthem countless times, drank just as much beer, danced around, converted irish lads to norwegians hehe.. Barry had bought a book called instant norwegian, and it was hilarious.
all in all it was a brilliant night, and we had loads of fun.
Very different from the celebration last year in new zealand, but i was really good here as well, less people but loads of fun:D

now onto the pictures.. Enjoy!

What a week

Wow, thanks for the pics it looks so pretty there, but where were you in the photos? I would love to go to England one day.
Anyways what a week we have had. Someone sent me an email that had a virus attached, and it crashed our computer. And then we couldn't fix it, then we had to go but an external harddrive with money we don't have to try save what we could. Then it flooded and our cars computer got all wet and we had to take it to the machanic to try save, which ws a whole load more money we don't have. Also our garage was about a meter deep in water and we lost a whole load of stuff. Not to mention my husband being real bitchy because of all this stuff going on. My daughter had to get her tooth extracted, more $ and i couldn't do any homework because all this was going on not to mention not having a computer to do work on. So i am so glad that this week is over.
I am really sorry going on to you it is just i can't complain to anyone around here. I miss you so much at times like this. I really hope that all is well.
lots of love Rachel XOXO

Liverpool

At the end of February me and Trine decided to join the international students on their trip to Liverpool, seeing as we're both internationals.
None of us has ever been to liverpool before so we were quite excited, i mean liverpool is the home of liverpool football club, my dad and brother's fave team and the home of the beatles of course, with so much to see and only about 6 hours we were in a hurry..
They recommended that we didn't go to anfield, because it was matchday.. but with my family being huge fans of course i had to see the stadium.
so after fighting our way through the crowds at the museum and going by the support shop to buy some souvenirs we were finally out and on our way back to the city central.
We decided to head for cavern quarter first to find somewhere to eat and look at the streets where the beatles took their first steps. we saw the bestles shop, cavern club and this really cool bench before we went to this irish place and got something to eat, international as i am, i went for the chicken tikka, whilst trine did the english version and went for fish and chips.
we really wanted to make the most out of it when we were there so after eating we set out for the cathedral, we did get to do a fair bit of walking, but in the end it was worth is.. on the way we passed chinatown as well an of course we had to get some pictures. After that we had a little less than two hours and about half an hour went by to get back down to the harbour, leaving us with just about an hour for the beatles museum, called the beatles story. we got this walkman thingy which played the info for us we just had to press the number we wanted to hear, so we managed to get through most of the exhibtion in that hour, before we headed back to the bus. pretty tired from a lot of walking, but in the end we managed to squeeze a lot of things into a thight schedule, i am well pleased and i'm definitely going back up to liverpool at some point.

School is back, but where is Ida?

My dear Ida,

well Monday was the first day when i think i actually comprehended that you are not here anymore (yeah i know bit slow on the uptake). Anyways school started and you were nowhere to be found and i had to sit with strangers. It just wasn't the same. Lots of people say hi like Hannah (she was sad she diddn't get to say goodbye) and adnan, Aldous, Kelly and Ann (from Lang in Society not your Ann). Everyone kept asking me where you were which just made me sadder.

Anyway it is weird doing 3rd yr papers alot more work for three classes we have wikis, another blogg and another stupid podcast not to mention all the normal papers and presentations. But you would off been top of the class for two of the classes as in one we are talking about how english came from your way friesland or something like that. And in pauls class we are doing voluspa and volsunga saga.

I really hope that everything is going good for you how are your classes? what is the work load like? Missing you heaps and heaps lots of aroha Rachel XOXO
